BE IN THE MOMENT
How many times do we say next time, next month, or next year? Have you have ever thought what if that time doesn’t come for me?
If you did think that way; then you would reference that first sentence above less. As people we are overbooked for business, as parents, as lovers, and as friends when do we stop in our footsteps and just be in the moment.
I know every hour minute and second must be accounted for because time is money and it’s valuable but so is the memory.
As a seasoned woman, when I have deep conversations with my oldies but goodies, I hear so many times over I wish I would have lived a little bit more in my younger years, but I was so focused on my career, getting established building a family that I forgot to live for me a little.
Why do we feel if we live for ourselves a little bit, we are being selfish? Why do we feel we are neglecting the important things in our lives? Isn’t our needs and desires important as well? I am here to tell you they are just as important instead of putting your needs at the bottom of the list put them side by side with everything else that you value.
Looking back and having regrets is not a good feeling and I believe when we share our journey with the youth today it will help them do better than we did not necessarily with monetary gains but with being happy with their personal choices in life.
Don’t feel bad for ever choosing you. After all, how can you ever truly make someone happy if you are not truly happy. It’s ok to live in the moment in moderation.
