AUTHENTICITY
Authenticity: The quality of being authentic.
“Authentic to what?” is the question I ask myself a lot; it is a question we should all be asking ourselves throughout this journey called Life.
I often judge my authenticity by my commitment and my passion to the people I love and through the things I’m fervent about in my life; the things that bring joy, maybe not to myself always, but to others.
Being authentic is standing up for what YOU believe in and speaking the truth as it seems to you, even if it is not what people want to hear. For me, the most important part of being authentic is our character, our true core when no one is looking. We may be able to hide it from others but the truth about who we are? We can’t hide it from ourselves.
As I look at my life, I have realized I have been authentic to so many people in my life but the most important valuable player is ME — and I wasn’t being authentic to myself: to my desires and my needs to thrive emotionally, financially, and spiritually.
Sometimes in life, you start to reflect on your path then and now, so you can figure out what will be the best path for your future and what you know for sure didn’t work. Being true to your core, I think, is the best ingredient to figure out if you are being authentic to yourself first where it truly matters, because if you are, then you will always be authentic to others around you.
I have come to realize once we are real with our truth and we are living our authentic lives, then and only then will we obtain all the things we deserve and desire. And it is because we are putting out into the universe what we truly are, when we trust and believe that we will receive it.
Continue to stand strong and live your best authentic journey because at the end of the day we can’t hide the truth about ourselves from the reflection in the mirror.
Love,
